Retirement

A good friend of mine back in the UK once said – Mike, have you noticed not many mechanics retire?

They get so sick of it they would rather stack shelves in the supermarket than struggle on with rusty old cars, getting filthy for not much money – the fun of fixing has gone.

So, as many of you already know, retirement beckons, and I still keep getting jobs coming in which I do not really want, but there is no-one else willing to work on Land Rovers locally

I cannot keep working 7 days a week – time to slow down, sorry about that, but it’s now getting a bit too much, and interest/enthusiasm has left the room a long time ago

The online shop will be run down, as it costs more in hosting and buying security products than it generates in income now, but I will be listing items on eBay as they handle all the shipping and cross border hassles, as nowadays it is so time-consuming just to make a few dollars

If there is anyone wanting things I may have in my containers, then contact me at britrest@britrest.com

I have the Series 1 to sell, as I never use it, and it is time for someone else to enjoy.

I will still do transmissions and steering boxes, but as many of you know, I rely on JP’s machining magic to bring them back to life, and with JP being 75 now, there is no one talented enough or willing to do my jobs.

Furthermore, I like to do YouTube videos and will keep making them as there are many areas yet to cover, and you guys have a lot to learn still!

Mike
